To act upon the need arisen, SMS-Agricultural Extension, Dr. Kinjulck
C. Singh made aware women of two villages-Ajgarha and Padra about the BIG at
conceptual level and also at working level. This move inspired them to form two
BIGs, Sath Samooh by women form Ajgarha Village, which has16 members and are
collecting Rs. 100/- per month, with total collection of Rs. 6000/- : women
from Ajgarha formed Sarswati Ruchi Samooh with 11 members and are collecting
Rs. 50/- per month, collectively have Rs. 2700/-.
These groups showed interest in beginning food processing at cottage
level and hence were given hands on training by SMS-Home Science / Food
Technology, Dr. Chandrajiit Singh on Fruit and Vegetable Processing and
Marketing.
These groups prepared number of products like- Anwala Murabba, Supari,
Candy, Pickle, Mango Pickle, Potato Chips, Potato Papad etc. The group has
processed 5 quintals Anwala collectively and is being sold through the best and
most posh counters of Rewa City like- Leela Rams, Indore Sev Bhandar.
KVK-Rewa is aiding the groups in establishing new contacts and the
products are being sold from KVK itself to the visiting trainees and farmers,
officers and guests.These groups are likely to supply the Anwala products in
bulk to the big stores to enter the supply chain.
Both the groups are registered by Khadi Gram Udyog and have been
offered their counter to sell their products. Now they can boast of having
their own Bank Account and Pass Books.
This is of-course a winning knock by women of our great country India
by God’s Grace.!!!
