Kisan Mobile Sandesh Sewa has matured in Rewa District and has entered its IInd phase and individual fees contribution of the 155 Farmers, Agricultural Input Dealers, Partner NGOs and Departmental Officers have been collected which itself says it all about the success of the program in the District by the SMS- Agricultural Extension Scientist, KVK Rewa, Dr. Kinjulck C. Singh under the guidance of Dr. U.S Gautam, Zonal Coordinator, Zone-VII, Director Extension Services, JN Agricultural University Dr. A.K. Saxena and Programme Coordinator, KVK-Rewa (MP) Dr. Nirmala Singh.

In the first phase the program started with the fund made available by the KVK and included 200 participants but it was felt that the program should expand its reach to the remotest area of the district and to the poorest of the poor farmers who does not have access to the mobile connectivity. This idea has lead the SMS of the subject to the innovation by including All India Radio Station’s Service. Mr. M. Saxena, Programme Officer, AIR cooperated fully and said that it would be a great help form KVK, since AIR does not have an Agricultural Officer since long and hence Agricultural Advisory Program ‘Krishi Sanket” which is aired twice daily; in the afternoon and in the night for 2 minutes, could not be broadcasted.
With his help KVK, Rewa started sending KMSs to the AIR which were aired to the distant area of the District. KVK utilized every extension event to spread the information about the AIR program including Farmers’ Fair, Interfaces, Meetings, Trainings and Individual Contacts. Departmental Officer also cooperated.

The Dealers were asked to put notice board on slates and black boards on their Sale Counters to write the KMS information. One such Major Dealer M/S Vikas Seeds and Agricultural Agency, reported that previously farmers were dependent on us for the advices but now they are asking directly for the particular input and on asking they reply that they receive KMS on there mobile phones.

Another Dealer, Mr. Jony Krishnani, M/S Vishal Beej Bhandar, says that his counter is gaining reputation amongst the farming community due to the information sent by the KVK, Rewa which he displays on the notice board regularly. He is happy that his number of customers is growing due to KMS.

One of the farmers, Mr. Shailendra Singh (Mobile Number: 09229903395), resident of Village: Kuswar, Tehsil: Sirmour, Rewa adds that it was only because of KMS that he could know about the availability of Paddy seed through Gram Beej Yojana and could get good quality the seed in time from KVK, Rewa.
